A lethargic novelist and his doting editor share a home and a decade of unspoken feelings in a story about two men who wish for each others happiness so much that they keep passing each other by. Higashigawa was captivated by the novels written by his best friend Nishiko when they were students, and he joined a publishing company specifically to spread his friends works to the world. About ten years after they first met, their relationship has settled into the professional dynamic of a new novelist and his dedicated editor. Higashigawa lives with Nishiko under the pretense of not being able to leave him to his own sloppy lifestyle, but in reality, he simply wants to stay by his side. Nishiko, for his part, is thrown into emotional turmoil by Higashigawas casual remarks of affection, swinging between happiness and anxiety over how much he loves this guy. The story explores the painful and tender gap between their true feelings and what they are willing to say, forming a requited unrequited romance. The series is a spin-off focusing on the popular character Nishiko, who originally appeared in Kitayama-kun to Minamiya-kun.
