Once a child prodigy pianist, Shion Kirino is now a burnt-out and bitter shell of himself, lost in grief over his mother's passing and his own dying passion for the musical career that once defined their connection. He spends his days in a state of depression, convinced he has reached the limits of his talent. When he is approached by Kei Takase, a talented younger colleague who professes deep admiration for him, Kirino sees an opportunity to soothe his fragile ego. He invites Takase home, intending to toy with his feelings and use him for sex.
