Description
Five thousand years ago, a young apprentice magician named Asley was the target of ridicule at his magic academy due to his lack of talent. After dropping out and being looked down upon by his peers, he withdrew from society to live as a hermit researcher, accompanied only by his loyal Siberian husky familiar and best friend, Pochi. During one of his isolated experiments, Asley accidentally created the eternal dew, a divine medicine that granted immortality to both himself and his canine companion.
Having achieved eternal life, Asley lost his original purpose of seeking revenge on those who had mocked him and instead dedicated millennia to researching magic and magical artifacts far beyond the scope of conventional academy teachings. Before he realized it, five thousand years had passed, and he had become a master of ancient magic that had long since been lost to the world.
After thousands of years of solitude, Asley’s level one hundred familiar Pochi finally demands that his master go outside for the first time in two centuries to get some fresh air and reintegrate into society. With no real goal in life, the eternally youthful but socially awkward sorcerer sets out on a journey to explore a world that has completely transformed during his absence. He soon discovers that his mastery of magicraft, the ancient art he perfected in seclusion, makes him stand out dramatically in a modern era where such knowledge has vanished.
As Asley travels and gradually reacquaints himself with human society, he encounters new companions and begins to grow and change as a person, despite having lived for millennia. However, his journey also uncovers signs of dark forces threatening this new world he is growing fond of. The revival of the demon king is imminent, yet mankind’s declining faith and the populace’s dogmatic reverence for powerful fighters have left humanity without the holy heroes needed to combat this threat. Despite his foolish and eccentric personality, Asley finds himself facing great evil, tasked with saving a world that has long forgotten its ancient magical heritage, all while trying to restore his own unglamorous reputation and enduring Pochi’s constant friendly advice along the way.
