Description
Hana Ishimaru has spent her life as a people-pleaser, working a dead-end office job while drowning in her parents' debt. When her younger sister, Yuna, begs her to attend the annual charity gala of the powerful Kirishima Group in her place, Hana reluctantly agrees. Yuna had been set up as a potential bride for the group’s stoic heir, Ryo Kirishima, but Yuna has run off with her secret boyfriend. The plan is simple: Hana will pretend to be Yuna, smile for the cameras, and disappear before anyone notices the switch.

The plan falls apart immediately when Ryo sees through the act within minutes. Instead of exposing her, however, he makes a shocking counteroffer. Ryo is tired of his grandfather’s relentless matchmaking and needs a fiancée to secure his position as the next chairman. He proposes a contract: Hana will continue playing the role of Yuna, this time as his fake fiancé, for six months. In exchange, he will pay off her family’s debt. With no other options, Hana accepts her new life in Tokyo’s glittering high society.

The story unfolds in a sprawling modern Tokyo, shifting between the sterile, glass-walled offices of the Kirishima Corporation and the cold, traditional halls of the Kirishima family estate. Hana struggles to master the etiquette, fashion, and poise required of her position, often clashing with Ryo’s icy efficiency. Ryo is initially a mystery, a man who treats their arrangement as a business merger, but Hana begins to notice the cracks in his armor: the weight of his family’s expectations, the loss of a parent, and a secret project he funds to help struggling small businesses, a direct rebellion against his grandfather’s corporate ruthlessness.

Three major arcs shape their journey. The first arc, The Gilded Cage, follows Hana’s intense training and her disastrous public debut, where she accidentally charms Ryo’s rival, the playboy heir Sota Tachibana. This creates a public love triangle that Ryo is forced to play along with, sparking the first hints of jealousy.

The second arc, Cracks in the Contract, sees the fake relationship begin to blur. A company retreat leads to a private moment where Hana comforts Ryo after an argument with his grandfather. During a charity auction, Hana’s genuine kindness outshines the high-society socialites, and Ryo defends her honor against a vicious rumor, breaking his own rule about emotional distance. They share their first unscripted kiss, though both agree it was a mistake.

The third and final arc, The Unmasking, begins when Yuna returns, pregnant and abandoned by her boyfriend, threatening to expose the entire ruse to the press. Ryo’s grandfather discovers the deception and gives Ryo an ultimatum: end the charade and marry a "suitable" woman, or lose the company. Faced with losing her family’s security or Ryo’s world, Hana decides to confess everything at a live press conference. But before she can speak, Ryo steps to the microphone and announces that the rumors of a "fake fiancée" are true, but only because he fell in love with the wrong sister first. He renounces his claim to the company, choosing Hana over his inheritance. The story ends with Hana and Ryo walking away from the Kirishima empire together, having found genuine love and freedom in the rubble of their false pretenses.
