Miki Domeki lives alone in Domeki Village, where she has resided since her husband passed away many years ago. Respected by the local residents, she is the person everyone turns to for advice whenever something happens in the village. Her family, consisting of her son Toru, her daughter-in-law Yuma, and her six-year-old granddaughter Ako, lives far away. One spring day, Toru moves his family back to Domeki Village, and they begin living together with Miki. The story follows the three generations as they navigate life under one roof, with Miki’s role as the village matriarch continuing to draw neighbors seeking her counsel. The narrative is based on the manga series by Satosumi Takaguchi, which was first published on April 2, 2015, in the magazine Jour.
