Description
Elsa, the daughter of a fallen aristocratic family, receives an unexpected and bewildering marriage proposal. The suitor is Julius, the son of a powerful duke and an elite nobleman far above her station. She questions why such a distinguished man would choose to marry her, but she accepts the proposition. Immediately after the wedding, however, the kind and gentle demeanor Julius had shown her vanishes completely. In a cold voice, he declares he has no intention of ever loving her, establishing their union as a mere marriage of convenience.
