At fifty years old, Youko makes the decision to leave Tokyo after thirty-two years and return to her hometown of Fukuoka. Having worked as an actor without achieving the success she had hoped for, she now faces the stark reality of being unemployed at her age with no money, no stamina, and no perseverance left. The story follows her new life as she quits her job, departs from the capital, and confronts the feeling of having never truly accomplished anything. Her attempt to start over begins with a chance meeting with Kaisei, the affable son of her landlord, as well as interactions with her part-time coworkers. The narrative focuses on her journey of self-discovery and the challenge of building a new identity after abandoning a lifelong dream.
