Description
Asuma is the sleepiest and most tardy student at his school, a fact that has made him the bane of Mahiro’s existence. As the head of the disciplinary committee, Mahiro is responsible for upholding school rules, which now includes the impossible task of getting Asuma to class on time. Their dynamic takes a bizarre turn when Mahiro is forced to become Asuma’s roommate in the dorms. He soon discovers that Asuma is not merely a heavy sleeper but is practically catatonic once unconscious, unresponsive to any conventional alarm or disturbance. The only solution, discovered entirely by accident, is for Mahiro to be pulled into Asuma’s embrace. Sharing a bed is the singular, inexplicable key that allows the sleeping prince to finally wake up.
The central characters are the disciplined and rule-abiding Mahiro, whose orderly life is thrown into chaos, and the enigmatic Asuma, whose chronic sleep condition earns him the nickname of the school’s sleeping prince. The story unfolds primarily within their shared dorm room and the halls of their high school, creating an intimate setting where two polar opposites are forced into an awkward and increasingly intimate coexistence.
The narrative arc follows the development of their highly unconventional arrangement. What begins as a frustrating disciplinary assignment evolves into a secret pact, with Mahiro begrudgingly acting as Asuma’s human body pillow to ensure he can function as a student. This strange alliance forces Mahiro to navigate a series of personal challenges, including maintaining his reputation as a strict enforcer of rules while hiding his embarrassing new role. As the forced proximity continues, the initial annoyance and frustration between the two boys slowly gives way to confusion, vulnerability, and the potential for genuine romantic feelings, exploring how a solution that started as a practical necessity becomes the foundation for an unexpected emotional bond.
