Description
Third-year philosophy student Masataka Noumi lives according to a hedonistic interpretation of Socrates principle that the important thing is not merely to live, but to live well. Broke, a chain smoker, and deeply fond of mahjong, pachinko, and reading philosophical works, he drifts through university life with little concern for conventional success. When his professor tempts him with the promise of yakiniku, Noumi agrees to join a book club, where he meets Eito Tan, a serious and strikingly good-looking first-year student in the same philosophy department. Eito is openly gay and entirely unconcerned with others opinions, qualities that stand in sharp contrast to Noumi's easygoing and dissolute character. Intrigued by this confident underclassman, Noumi decides to approach him, but Eito does not initially appreciate Noumis self-indulgent lifestyle. The story follows these two opposites as they search for the other half of the soul, a concept that drives Eito specifically and becomes the emotional core of their relationship. The narrative unfolds entirely within a university setting, focusing on their interactions during book club meetings and the gradual development of their connection across the complete single-volume story, which originally ran as a digital release from October 2023 to August 2024.
