Description
A 19-year-old young man named Tsubame is sold off by his own brother to a yakuza organization as collateral for a debt, effectively becoming the group’s property. Instead of being subjected to the most brutal forms of servitude, he is assigned a surprising task: to personally care for the right-hand man of the group’s head. This man is the feared and respected second-in-command, who becomes Tsubame’s unexpected charge and eventual love interest. The story follows Tsubame as he navigates this forced cohabitation within the dangerous and insular world of the Japanese underworld, moving from a position of terrified captivity to something far more complex and intimate.

The narrative is set against the backdrop of modern yakuza operations, with much of the drama unfolding within the confined spaces of the organization’s residences where Tsubame learns to serve his master. The central conflict arises not just from external threats but from the volatile power dynamics between the two main characters, as well as the lingering trauma of familial betrayal. The main cast includes Tsubame, a young man who wears glasses and is initially portrayed as helpless and victimized, and his stoic and intimidating yakuza caretaker. A key antagonist figure is Tsubame’s own brother, whose lack of remorse creates deep emotional wounds for the protagonist.

The story is structured into several notable arcs. The first chapters focus on the initial shock and adjustment period, as Tsubame is handed over to the yakuza and learns the rules of his new life. A subsequent arc builds suspense with a major cliffhanger involving the love interest’s safety, raising the dramatic stakes significantly. However, the tone pivots sharply in later chapters, where the serious yakuza drama gives way to a rapid, condensed development of the romantic relationship between Tsubame and his keeper. This includes a sudden shift from slow-burn tension to an explicit physical relationship in an extra chapter. The final arc deals with Tsubame’s confrontation with his abusive brother, a storyline that many readers found frustrating as the brother shows no remorse, yet Tsubame ultimately forgives him, concluding the series on an emotionally complicated note. The manga concludes after eight chapters, having transitioned from a gritty, dramatic premise into a Boys Love romance focused on the happiness its protagonist finds within captivity.
