Description
Yukitsugu Shinohara and his female colleague work for the same stationery manufacturer and, by chance, live in apartments next door to each other. Every night, they eat dinner together in one of their homes, spending their evenings and days off in each others company in a relaxed, domestic rhythm. On the surface, they insist their relationship is simply that of ordinary coworkers, but the comfortable intimacy of sharing daily meals hints at deeper, more complicated feelings simmering beneath the surface. The story unfolds primarily within the walls of their adjacent apartments and the familiar spaces of their neighborhood, using the preparation and sharing of home-cooked food as the central lens through which their unspoken connection slowly develops. Each dinner becomes a quiet step in navigating the blurred line between professional distance and personal closeness, as both characters grapple with what they truly mean to one another. The narrative arc progresses through the seasons, with the evolving menu reflecting both the passage of time and the gradual, almost imperceptible shifts in their relationship from casual colleagues to something more emotionally significant.
