My Dress-Up Darling XOXO! is a comedy spin-off manga based on the original romantic series Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru. Rather than continuing the main romantic storyline, this collection presents a series of chaotic and super cute comedic vignettes featuring the beloved cast in exaggerated and humorous situations.

The story revolves around the same core characters from the original manga. Wakana Gojo is a shy and dedicated high school student who dreams of becoming a traditional Hina doll artisan, a passion that once made him a social outcast. Marin Kitagawa is his cheerful, popular, and fashion-forward classmate whose secret hobby is cosplaying characters from her favorite video games and anime. When Marin discovers Wakana’s exceptional sewing skills, she recruits him to bring her elaborate costume designs to life, forming an unlikely and close partnership.

In this spin-off, their daily lives are turned into zany escapades. Marin tries her hand at being a booth babe for the manga club, leading to unexpected chaos. Wakana is unexpectedly confronted by an old classmate who asks him for money. The cosplayer sisters Sajuna and Shinju Inui face their own comedic trials, such as Sajuna enduring countless horror movies for her sister’s sake. Other returning characters, including the crossplayer Amane Himeno, also join in the fun, with the entire cast receiving a humorous makeover for these short, episodic gags.

The setting remains the familiar world of the original series, including Gojo’s traditional doll shop and various cosplay events, but the tone is purely lighthearted and focused on comedy. While the main My Dress-Up Darling manga concluded in March 2025 after a long run that saw Wakana and Marin’s relationship evolve through numerous cosplay projects and story arcs, this spin-off serves as an ongoing celebration of its characters and their antics.
