Description
A loner high school student named Fujiwara Sandai, who prefers to keep to himself, has his life turned upside down after a single act of kindness. When the most beautiful and popular girl in his class, Yuizaki Shino, falls into a ditch near his home, he rushes to help her. He brings her to his house, lets her use his shower, and lends her some dry clothes, despite never having spoken to her before.
From that day forward, Sandai's solitary high school life is over. Shino, who sits behind him in class and has given the cold shoulder to practically every other guy who has approached her, begins to actively seek out his company. She talks to him and hangs around him as if they are close friends, or perhaps something more. Sandai is convinced this sudden attention must be an elaborate prank designed to humiliate a gloomy otaku like himself. However, he is unaware of a crucial detail: Shino has never had a boyfriend and is not good with boys in general. Sandai is the first guy with whom she can have a natural, proper conversation.
As Sandai tries to navigate the confusing reality of being pursued by the school's most popular babe, he begins to see past her perfect appearance and discovers her genuine, albeit awkward, personality. The story follows the evolving relationship between the suspicious loner and the surprisingly shy gal as Sandai starts to develop special feelings for Shino in return. Their relationship develops quickly at first before settling into a romantic dynamic, with Shino taking the initiative and actively expressing her feelings, a reversal of typical rom-com tropes. The manga is set in a contemporary Japanese high school and explores whether a total loner and a social butterfly can build a friendship that leads to love.
