After graduating from art school, 36-year-old Takaharu has been living a quiet, solitary life focused on his painting. That peaceful existence is interrupted when Kyou, his ex-girlfriend from 17 years ago, suddenly appears at his door with her 14-year-old daughter Minori. With nowhere else to go, Kyou asks Takaharu if they can stay with him. Despite the awkwardness of the situation and the long gap since their breakup, Takaharu agrees to let them live in his home.

The story revolves around the unusual domestic arrangement that follows.
