Description
A young woman finds herself captivated by a mysterious older man she sees every morning. With his narrowed eyes, traditional kimono, and a tobacco pipe always in hand, everything about his appearance screams that he is a playboy, someone who lives a shady and worldly life. However, as she continues to cross paths with him, she begins to discover that her initial impression could not be further from the truth. Despite his suspicious looks, the man, Yakumo-san, is revealed to be incredibly pure and innocent, leading to a gentle and heartwarming romance. The story unfolds primarily in what appears to be an everyday Japanese setting, with a restaurant or similar establishment serving as a key backdrop as suggested by the French title “Métro Boulot Yakumo”. The core of the narrative revolves around the growing relationship between the female protagonist and Yakumo, an older, kimono-clad man whose demeanor contrasts sharply with his unexpectedly wholesome character.
