Shiina Kyoko, a television news anchor, is keeping a secret. Her hidden life involves a young man she found on the street one night. When he approached her, he seemed like a stray dog, and for reasons she could not explain, she felt unable to abandon him. This young man, whose name is Haru, came to live in her apartment. The unusual nature of their arrangement is defined by Haru’s particular habits: at the agreed-upon time, he returns to her home and waits for her outside the door, never using the spare key he has been given. As Kyoko begins to notice Haru's thoughtfulness and gentle nature, her feelings for him start to grow from mere obligation into genuine affection. The story follows the happy romance between Kyoko and Haru, and the collected work also includes an additional short story, also centered on the theme of dogs, described as a mysterious love story.
