Description
Three years after being abandoned by her boyfriend, a young woman named Taeko still secretly pines for his return, unable to move forward. One day, while drinking at the counter of her favorite neighborhood bar, she meets Tora, a vibrant and fashion-loving older woman. Taeko initially finds her bothersome, but she soon realizes they share the same affliction: both are prisoners of memories, nursing persistent feelings for men from their pasts. The meeting sparks an unexpected friendship between these two women separated by over fifty years in age. Beneath her youthful and somewhat boyish exterior, Taeko is a secret dreamer, while Tora, despite her age, possesses an energetic spirit and a passion for life. As they bond over their shared heartbreak, they begin to navigate the complexities of their contemporary lives, learning that living in the past has caused them to forget how to enjoy the present. The story follows their small moments of happiness and the deepening of their sororal bond, ultimately charting their emotional journeys as they discover that life continues to flow forward between the laughter and the tears. The series concludes with the two heroines finding a new sense of self, suggesting that while one chapter may end, the person waiting at the end might just be oneself. The complete Japanese edition is four volumes long.
