Description
Sato Mio watches helplessly as his childhood friend, Ninomiya Juri, is bullied by classmates who mock him for being effeminate. Mio lacks the courage to stand up for Juri, a failure that festers into growing self‑loathing. The two boys go to the beach together, seeking escape from their rigid school lives. In a moment charged with long‑suppressed emotion, Juri suddenly confesses his feelings and kisses Mio. Before either can process what happened, an unknown observer photographs the intimate scene. This single image becomes a ticking time bomb that threatens to shatter their friendship and expose their secret to a hostile environment. Juri, already isolated for his mannerisms, now faces the prospect of his deepest vulnerability being weaponized. Mio, paralyzed by fear of social ruin, must choose between finally defending Juri or losing him forever. The story unfolds across two volumes as the photograph circulates, forcing both boys to confront the cost of authenticity in a world that punishes difference. Juri’s confession—How many more times can I say I love you while I am still alive?—frames the narrative as a desperate race against rejection, violence, and their own silence.
