A second-year high school girl named Akoko Sekikawa is incapable of lying to herself or anyone else, always speaking her mind with complete honesty. She is inseparable from her best friend Mitsuki Taniguchi, a girl she has been classmates with since the third grade. At the start of a new school year, the two find themselves in the same class as Naomi Mitomo, a boy who remains the object of widespread adoration among students despite having been held back a year. Akoko falls in love with him at first sight and immediately begins pursuing him.
