Description
Wataru is the wealthy heir to a famous consortium, and his life appears perfectly mapped out for him. To serve his family's interests, he has agreed to an arranged marriage with a young woman chosen by his parents. What no one knows is that Wataru is gay, secretly seeking out casual encounters with men while maintaining the public image of a dutiful son and heterosexual elite. He has made peace with this double life, believing he can comfortably live within the confines of societal norms and never come out publicly. His careful facade begins to crumble when he meets his prospective bride’s older brother, Masamune. Masamune immediately senses that something is not right with the perfect groom and seems determined to do whatever it takes to prevent this arranged marriage from proceeding. As Masamune digs deeper and challenges Wataru's carefully constructed world, the pressure Wataru faces to conform clashes directly with the unexpected and disruptive attraction that grows between them. The story is set in contemporary Japan, focusing on the adult realities of corporate family pressure and the gay experience of navigating a society that expects rigid heteronormativity. As a one-shot volume, the narrative arc follows the confrontation between Wataru, who is resigned to living in the closet for security, and Masamune, whose intervention forces Wataru to question whether living in the ranks is truly a life at all.
