Description
Charlotte, a marquis’s daughter, possesses a rare and troublesome special ability: her emotions directly influence the weather. For her entire life, she has been forced to suppress every feeling, forbidding herself from crying, becoming angry, or even expressing joy to prevent unintended storms or droughts. Her fiancé, Prince Theodore, is unsympathetic to her plight. He abruptly annuls their engagement, publicly blaming her lack of affection and openly pursuing a sweet-natured commoner named Verona.
Reaching the limits of her endurance, Charlotte decides to take control of her future. Rather than endure further humiliation, she arranges to marry King Azul of the neighboring Kingdom of Shurton, a harsh and barren land plagued by monsters. Far from the cold treatment she received from Theodore, Azul showers her with genuine and overwhelming affection, promising her the freedom to feel at last. In the safety of this desolate kingdom, Charlotte begins to smile and laugh, using her previously feared ability without restraint.
However, life in Shurton is not without danger. The kingdom is under constant threat from monsters that emerge from the wasteland, and Charlotte’s new happiness is soon challenged by political schemes. Theodore, regretting his decision and coveting Charlotte’s power, attempts to forcibly reclaim her, leading to a conflict with Azul. As Azul fights to protect his kingdom and his bride, Charlotte must decide how to use her power not just for her own emotional freedom, but to save the land she has come to call home. The narrative follows her journey from a suppressed noble lady to a queen who can shape the very climate of her new world, facing down monsters, jealous rivals, and the struggle to build a prosperous nation on barren soil.
