Description
Houjou Shiori, a mysterious woman operating under the name Uramiya, runs a clandestine revenge shop. For a substantial fee, she and her team execute elaborate schemes to destroy the lives of individuals who have evaded conventional justice. Their services range from social annihilation to financial ruin, and in extreme cases, elimination. The series spans from 2017 to 2022 as the sixth installment in the long-running Uramiya Honpo franchise.

The setting is contemporary Japan, where the narratives frequently incorporate real-world social issues and current events, including topics such as cyber harassment, financial scams, corruption, and the misuse of power by figures like corrupt politicians and cult leaders. The stories explore the dark side of human nature, portraying a society where victims feel trapped and powerless, leading them to seek this extreme form of retribution.

At the center is Houjou Shiori, the enigmatic proprietor. She is portrayed as cold, calculative, and fully committed to her work as a purveyor of vengeance, often stating she will do what is necessary. Her motivations are deeply tied to a past encounter with a powerful cult organization. Over time, Shiori reveals a hidden layer of complexity, showing she sometimes masks her more compassionate actions behind a facade of selfish practicality. Her team is assembled from former clients and specialists she has recruited. This includes a genius information broker who handles hacking and intelligence, an eccentric otaku with a vivid imagination who provides creative and technical support, a charismatic male host who is also her younger brother and uses his charm for infiltration, a high school girl who became an operative after being saved from an abusive home, and a morally ambiguous doctor.

While the narrative is largely episodic, with each chapter or short arc focusing on a new client and a distinct offender, a major overarching plot develops around the Holy Fortune Faith. This cult organization is a recurring adversary, and it becomes clear that Shiori has a long-standing, personal vendetta against its leader. Many smaller revenge cases build toward this final conflict, with the series concluding as Shiori finally confronts this primary target, resolving the mystery that has driven much of her background actions.
