Description
Etou Ageha is a high school girl and the current head of the Etou family, a lineage of doll makers stretching back to the Muromachi period. The family possesses a unique ability: they can hear the voices of dolls and soothe their troubled souls. Central to this power are two guardian dolls, Leo and Yuki, crafted by the legendary doll maker Etou Choshichiro. When given a kiss of affection, these dolls can take on human form at night. However, Yuki has been missing for a long time, leaving Ageha unable to fully assume her role as leader. The story begins with Ageha, accompanied by the haughty and possessive Leo, setting out to find the lost doll. She locates Yuki with surprising speed—within the first chapter—and the narrative then shifts from a search mission to a series of episodic adventures in which Ageha, Leo, and Yuki help dolls in distress, resolving their emotional wounds and pacifying restless spirits. Along the way, Ageha gradually develops romantic feelings for Leo, a complication that troubles her as a human–doll relationship. Later arcs introduce additional characters such as a mysterious young man claiming to be Yuki’s original owner, the internal politics of the Etou family that threaten to depose Ageha as head, and a growing mystery surrounding the family’s hidden secrets. The story balances lighthearted, heartwarming doll‑saving episodes with darker moments of tension and sacrifice, culminating in a final volume that resolves the bond between Ageha and her two guardian dolls.
