Description
Chiyoko Shimakura is the daughter of a long-established traditional Japanese confectionery shop located in a prime area of Tokyo. Her parents have already chosen a husband for her for the sake of the business, and she has never known a real romance, secretly wishing for a love story with a prince-like figure. One day while working at the shop, she is approached by a stunning young foreign man with golden hair and blue eyes who asks her out on a date. At the same time, rumors are circulating in the neighborhood about a young foreign man conning women out of their money. Chiyoko must decide whether this handsome stranger is the fraudster everyone is warning her about or if he truly is the prince she has always dreamed of. The story unfolds with a twist: the actual con artist is a different person, and the young foreign man is revealed to be an aristocrat investigating the case.
The volume also contains three other one-shot stories. In Senya Ichiya (A Thousand and One Nights), a chance encounter with a stranger leads a young girl to become a temporary secretary in an unexpected situation. Mitsuboshi School Days follows Minami, who enrolls in a cooking school in order to chase the boy she loves. Love Bite centers on a girl who struggles to express her true feelings, causing the boy she likes to mistakenly believe she hates him. Each story explores a different romantic scenario with a light, comedic, and sometimes dramatic tone, set in contemporary Japan and often involving encounters with foreigners or unusual circumstances.
