Mei Suzumori, a chef at his adopted family's taiyaki restaurant, looks forward each year to the Tanabata Festival. It is the one day when a mysterious, handsome man named Naru visits the shop to buy seasonal taiyaki. Mei has harbored a crush on Naru for ten years, seeing him only during this brief annual encounter. Unable to contain his feelings any longer, Mei finally confesses his love. In doing so, he discovers that he and Naru are bound together by a connection far deeper and more complicated than a simple romance. As the Tanabata season draws to a close, Mei must navigate the consequences of his confession and unravel the true nature of the link that ties him to the enigmatic Naru.
