Description
Ai Miyazawa, a high school girl who despises the idea of romance, has built a solitary life around the belief that love is meaningless. Her own name, Ai, meaning love, feels like a cruel irony she has come to hate. She encounters Okazaki Tomoaki, the popular basketball team captain and the school's idol, as well as Takaya, a boy who shares a similarly difficult past yet maintains a bright and cheerful disposition. Despite her determination to keep her heart closed, both young men slowly begin to enter her world and challenge her cynical outlook. The story unfolds in a contemporary school setting, following Ai’s internal struggle as she navigates her growing feelings and learns to trust others. Notable narrative arcs include her initial resistance to emotional vulnerability, the gradual development of a love triangle between her, Okazaki, and Takaya, and the eventual softening of her hardened exterior as she confronts her own fears and past wounds. The manga explores themes of emotional isolation, the fear of being hurt, and the transformative power of human connection, culminating in a heartfelt resolution that sees Ai finally allowing herself to experience love.
