Description
High school student Yui drifts through his days, letting himself be pulled along by a group of shallow friends even when he disagrees with them. In his class is Haru Watanuki, an eccentric classmate who speaks in a strange way and is completely unable to read social cues. After Yui runs into Haru at a karaoke place, Haru begins persistently talking to him at school, and Yui grows increasingly annoyed. Frustrated, Yui snaps at Haru, telling him he needs to learn how to play along with others to build relationships. Haru dismisses the idea as meaningless. Shortly afterward, Yui’s mother brings unexpected news: due to their parents’ circumstances, Yui and Haru will have to live together. Forced under the same roof, the two opposites begin to collide. Both of them carry hidden pain and lies, and their cohabitation sets off a chain of reactions neither expected. As Yui struggles to break free from his toxic friendships and start living honestly, and Haru decides to confront his own past and change himself, the ordinary moments of daily life—waking up, exchanging greetings—take on a new significance. This is a bitter, bittersweet story of two immature teenagers who are not quite adults, learning to take control of their own futures.
