Manga
Description
Mr. Vamp, an immortal vampire who has lived for centuries, decides to try something new: teaching history at a Japanese high school. He takes the name Banpu Yoshiya and presents himself as an ordinary mortal teacher, believing he has successfully hidden his supernatural identity. In reality, both students and faculty see through his flimsy disguise immediately. Rather than exposing him, they choose to humor him, quietly supporting his attempts to act like a normal educator while secretly enjoying the absurdity of having a real vampire on campus. The manga centers on the daily comedy that arises from this situation: Mr. Vamp’s anachronistic habits, his genuine bafflement at modern teenage life, and the gentle, conspiratorial kindness of everyone around him. While the narrative remains primarily episodic, it gradually builds a warm ensemble cast of students and fellow teachers who each react to Mr. Vamp’s presence in their own ways—some with playful teasing, others with protective concern, and a few simply enjoying the chaos. The underlying arc is less about high-stakes conflict and more about an ancient being finding a place in the mundane world, discovering that even a creature of the night can belong in a classroom full of kind-hearted humans.
