The Komada Distillery, once a thriving family business, is on the verge of collapse. Komada Ryusei, the daughter of the distillery and a university student with no prior connection to the alcohol industry, decides to abandon her studies and step into the world of whisky-making. Her goal is to revive the legendary whisky known as Koma, a blend that represents the shattered bonds of her family. The distillery has been struggling financially ever since an earthquake destroyed the equipment needed to produce raw spirit, forcing the family to halt production. Ryusei's father died from overwork while trying to save the business, and her older brother Kei left the company due to family conflicts, leaving the distillery in a precarious state.

Ryusei's journey begins from a place of complete inexperience. She must navigate the complexities of whisky production, from understanding mash bills and fermentation to mastering the art of blending. As the new president and blender, she is determined not only to restore the distillery's reputation but also to bring her estranged family back together. Along the way, she and her team face numerous challenges, including financial constraints, the difficulty of sourcing the right ingredients, and the need to replicate a legendary flavor profile that exists only in memory.

The story follows Ryusei as she steps into this unfamiliar world, learning from veteran employees and eventually visiting the Nagatoro Distillery to study advanced blending techniques. The manga also features articles introducing real Japanese distilleries. Throughout the narrative, Ryusei's dedication to the craft and to the people who love the whisky they create drives her forward.
