Description
Saika is a young woman utterly devoted to tea, a true tea maniac who has dedicated her life to cultivating the perfect tea leaves and drinking the finest brews. She travels to the capital intending to participate in the selection for tea leaves to be presented to the emperor. Mistaking the queue, she lines up for a different selection entirely: the imperial consort selection. Before she can correct the misunderstanding, she is chosen and finds herself entered into the inner palace of the fictional land of Seikoku. Inside the harem, she encounters the young emperor Kokuei, who possesses an exceptional palate for tea. Saika's genuine passion and deep knowledge of tea set her apart from the other consorts, capturing the emperor's interest and leading to an unlikely bond. However, the palace is a nest of tangled conspiracies, rivalries, and political schemes. Saika must navigate the dark undercurrents of the harem while relying on her only weapon: her mastery of tea. Over the course of the story, she grows from a bewildered outsider into an indispensable figure in the court, using her tea expertise to resolve crises, earn the trust of those around her, and even assist in affairs of state. A key narrative arc involves a Western envoy challenging her to find a legendary white tea within a ten-day limit, a quest that tests both her skills and her growing relationship with the emperor, who struggles with his own possessive feelings toward her. The series blends Chinese-inspired haрем drama, romance, and detailed tea culture into a Cinderella-like tale where the heroine's passion for tea is her greatest strength. The manga is based on the original story by Kazuki Karasawa, illustrated by Kurage Iyama.
