Description
Desperate to earn money for his ailing mother’s medicine, a young man named Noah leaves his rural hometown and takes a position as a servant at the Reinhardt family estate. On his very first day of work, the aloof nobleman Lord Rupert abruptly announces that Noah is his lover. The declaration is a ruse: Rupert needs a fake partner to fend off an unwanted political marriage, and Noah—determined to keep his job—agrees to play along. As they share daily life and pretend affection in front of others, Noah begins to notice the deep loneliness hidden behind Rupert’s cold demeanor. Moved by a wish to stand by him, Noah’s feelings shift from duty to genuine care. Simultaneously, Rupert finds himself drawn to Noah’s simple, honest warmth. Their arrangement slowly blurs the line between performance and reality.

The story unfolds in a romanticized European-inspired setting, where noble households and social class divisions shape the characters’ lives. Volume one, subtitled “The Temporary Lovers Arc,” focuses on the development of their fake relationship and the growing emotional intimacy that neither expects. In volume two, “The Eternal Vow Arc,” the masquerade ends: after a successful ball that allows Rupert to escape forced marriage, Noah and Rupert confess their true feelings at the long‑awaited Rondinium festival and become genuine lovers. Their happiness is short‑lived, however, as a dire piece of news arrives that threatens to tear them apart. Together, they must face the weight of their social positions, personal histories, and the forces that seek to separate them, ultimately choosing to share their futures no matter the cost. The narrative balances the tenderness of a slow‑burn romance with the dramatic tension of class conflict, personal sacrifice, and the pursuit of a love that defies the boundaries of master and servant.
