Description
Set in a Japanese high school, first-year student Shingo Nagata operates as a self-styled love cupid, using his friendly and approachable nature to gather information about boys for female classmates in exchange for treats like bread. His easygoing method hits a wall when he is asked to investigate the reason behind the large scar on the forehead of second-year student Ao Totogi, a cool and popular figure who keeps others at a distance. Shingo initially struggles to get close to Ao but stumbles upon a secret: Ao is terrified of thunderstorms, a trauma linked to the incident that caused his scar. This vulnerability sparks a genuine connection between them, and Shingo finds himself wanting to be near Ao for his own sake, not just for the investigation. However, when Ao discovers that Shingo's initial approach was motivated by a girl's request, he feels betrayed and pushes Shingo away. A dramatic reconciliation occurs during a sudden thunderstorm, where Shingo rushes to protect Ao, and their bond deepens into a romantic relationship. The story follows their blossoming love, characterized by Shingo's puppy-like enthusiasm and Ao's gradual thawing into an affectionate but still reserved partner. Notable narrative arcs include their first kiss, the awkward phases of early dating, and the challenges of navigating jealousy and miscommunication, particularly during the school's sports festival where a confident third-year student named Takeru appears as a rival for Ao's attention. The series captures the bright, awkward, and intense emotions of teenage romance.
