Description
On his way home from university, Souta intervenes when he sees a young man being harassed on the street. To his surprise, the person he rescues is Naoya, a childhood friend he has not seen in over a decade. The reunion is far from warm: Naoya greets him with cold, prickly behaviour, seemingly annoyed by Souta’s presence. Noticing Naoya is injured, Souta insists on taking him home to tend to the wound, despite the other man’s reluctant attitude.

Naoya’s resentment stems from a promise the two made as children, one that Souta no longer remembers. Hurt and frustrated by that forgotten bond, Naoya hides his true feelings behind a tsundere front, snapping at Souta even as he secretly longs for the closeness they once shared. Souta, for his part, is an easygoing and caring young man who naturally looks out for others. He is confused by Naoya’s hostility but refuses to give up on him, gradually chipping away at the wall Naoya has built.

As the two begin to spend more time together, suppressed emotions resurface. Naoya’s long-buried childhood crush stirs back to life, while Souta starts to see the awkward, defensive young man in a new light. Their relationship develops through small, everyday moments, past misunderstandings, and the lingering sweetness of a bond that was interrupted years ago.

The story is set in a contemporary Japanese city, centering on the mundane yet intimate spaces of university life, shared meals, and quiet evenings. Its narrative arc follows the pair from a strained reacquaintance to a tentative romantic rediscovery, exploring themes of remembered promises, unspoken affection, and the second chances that can blossom from old wounds.
