High school student Tatsuhiko Shimazaki inherits his late grandfather’s house and goes to inspect it after a long absence. In the storage room he finds a tanuki that can speak human language. The tanuki reveals herself to be the guardian deity of the house, transforms into a girl named Saneka, and the two begin cleaning and repairing the home while sharing stories about Tatsuhiko’s grandfather. When a strange mochi appears and Tatsuhiko eats it out of hunger, he and Saneka are suddenly bound as husband and wife in a “zero‑days‑of‑courtship” marriage. The house becomes a lively gathering place for other deities, including the flashy fire god Hiragi, and Tatsuhiko gradually learns more about his grandfather’s past.
