Manga
Description
In feudal Japan, the Iga ninja Shinkai Sumida is dispatched to assassinate Tsunaie Hirasaka, a man who had sexually violated him in his youth. Shinkai is defeated in the mission and mortally wounded. On the verge of death, Shiva, the deity sealed within Shinkai’s treasured sword Kaneyori, grants him immortality. Shinkai revives and continues to hunt Tsunaie across four centuries, but each encounter ends the same way: Tsunaie kills him, then sexually abuses his body before it resurrects. This cycle repeats endlessly, as Shinkai cannot stop himself from returning to the man who destroys him, and Tsunaie cannot let go of the one person who defies mortality for his sake. Their relationship is a paradox of hatred, obsession, and a love that neither admits, played out through relentless violence and sexual domination.

The story shifts between the present day and flashbacks to the Heian and Kamakura periods, revealing the origins of the sword-god Shiva and the tragic history of the swordsmith who forged him. The second half of the narrative expands to focus on Armaraka, a monk-like swordsmith, and his fellow disciple Tsuki, whose bond with Shiva’s creator parallels the main couple’s entanglement. The manga’s tone merges erotic brutality with a surreal, mythic quality, where death is temporary and the only constant is the power struggle between two immortals who can neither kill the other nor walk away.
