Manhua
Description
Sophomore Yu Yang is a sociable, easygoing, and dependable university student tasked with helping register new students during orientation. His assignment brings him face to face with Li Huan, a towering freshman whose closed-off demeanor, monosyllabic responses, and perpetual scowl make him seem rude and unapproachable. Their first encounter is marked by misunderstanding and friction, and Yu Yang comes away with a strong negative impression.

Despite the rocky start, circumstances repeatedly throw the two together. As Yu Yang is given the responsibility of guiding the new student, he begins to notice glimpses of a softer side beneath Li Huan's cold exterior. Li Huan, in turn, finds himself slowly drawn to Yu Yang's warmth, persistence, and unflinching sense of justice. The story tracks their gradual shift from reluctant acquaintances to close friends and eventually to romantic partners, navigating the usual tensions of campus life alongside deeper personal struggles.

The university campus serves as the primary setting, with much of the narrative unfolding in classrooms, dormitories, and everyday student spaces. Yu Yang is defined by his cheerful, outgoing nature and his strong moral compass; he does not tolerate bullying or injustice and is quick to stand up for himself and others. Li Huan appears taciturn and intimidating largely because of his height and reserved personality, but he is revealed to be thoughtful, caring, and quietly observant. The supporting cast includes Xia Xia, a friend who encourages Yu Yang to examine his feelings; Lin Xiang, a figure from Yu Yang's past whose history with him adds emotional complexity; and Huan Wen, another character whose own story intersects with themes of love and acceptance.

The major narrative arcs follow the progression from friction to friendship, the slow and honest development of romantic feelings, and the couple's confrontation of external challenges. These include homophobic harassment from peers, the weight of past relationships, and the difficult process of seeking family acceptance, particularly in the wake of Li Huan's loss of his mother. Through these trials, both protagonists grow individually and together, learning to trust, communicate openly, and build a relationship strong enough to withstand societal pressure. The story ultimately moves toward a place of healing, mutual support, and a hard-won sense of belonging.
