Description
Tsukushi Sugiyama is an ordinary high school girl with a bright, outgoing personality. She has spent her whole life alongside her childhood friend Hinoka Murasaki, a cool and beautiful girl who carries herself with an air of effortless composure yet shows moments of soft vulnerability. Their bond has always felt natural and unshakeable to Tsukushi, so she is caught completely off guard when one night she has an intensely vivid dream in which she confesses romantic feelings to Hinoka and is gently rejected. The dream is so startling and its emotional sting so real that Tsukushi wakes up unable to shake it, and for the first time she begins to question whether her feelings for Hinoka go far deeper than simple friendship. As she starts to pay closer attention to every glance and accidental touch, she becomes increasingly flustered and awkward, which only draws more attention from Hinoka, who notices the change in her behavior. Unbeknownst to Tsukushi, Hinoka has actually harbored a secret crush on her for a long time but has never been able to admit it. The story follows this mutual pining as both girls circle around each other, each convinced the other could never see them as anything more than a friend. The narrative unfolds through a series of sweet and often comedic everyday moments—sharing meals, sleeping over, holding hands, and navigating the ordinary chaos of school life—while both girls struggle to find the courage to confess. Classmates Sara and Yui, a confident and openly affectionate couple, serve as both comic relief and reluctant matchmakers whose teasing and encouragement push Tsukushi and Hinoka closer together. After much hesitation, Tsukushi resolves to make a real confession during a group trip to the beach, but her attempt is comically fumbled, leading to a moment of shared awkwardness that eventually gives way to an honest conversation. From there, the relationship blossoms into an official romance, and later arcs explore the new territory of being a couple: dealing with shyness in public, going on double dates with Sara and Yui, and navigating the intimate and sometimes embarrassing challenges of deepening their physical and emotional bond at home. The series is grounded in the warm, familiar setting of Japanese high school life and captures the fluttering anxiety and joy of first love between girls who have known each other their whole lives but are only now discovering how much they truly mean to each other.
