Sixty years have passed since love was outlawed and romantic relationships became a crime punishable by law. In this repressive world, the bored and listless high school student Honojirou leads an uneventful daily life until a mysterious curse is placed upon him: he must perform one lover-like act every single day or he will die. Forced into a desperate situation, he convinces the popular and admired student council president to enter a fake relationship with him, pretending to be his lover in order to keep him alive. Honojirou must now navigate the daily performance of romance under the watchful eyes of their classmates and the authorities, all while hiding the truth from a society that condemns any genuine affection. As the story progresses, the arrival of Minamino Furuu, an agent from the Love Enforcement Agency tasked with strengthening the crackdown on romantic behavior, escalates the danger. Honojirou must deceive the agent to avoid exposure and certain punishment, all while the line between the performance and his real feelings begins to blur.
