Akai Haato, a girl from our world, abruptly finds herself transported to a fantastical realm after the sheer shock of tasting her own home cooking. She awakens in the countryside of the fortress city of Westa, where she meets Tsunomaki Watame, a gentle and somewhat airheaded shepherd with a pair of horns and a love for food. Their chance encounter sparks a friendship built around the joy of eating. The two soon cross paths with Shiranui Flare, the popular waitress from the local cafe known as Machikado Cafe, and Shirogane Noel, the powerful and good-natured captain of the Westa knight order.
