Hans Hohlbein is a German actor and voice actor born in 1953 in Berlin. He trained at the Staatliche Schauspielschule Rostock from 1977 to 1980, beginning his career in theatre and television before becoming predominantly known for his extensive voice work.

Hohlbein has built a substantial career lending his voice to numerous anime series and films for the German market. One of his most prominent and long-standing roles is that of the Digimon Patamon and its various evolutions, including Tokomon, Angemon, MagnaAngemon, and Pegasusmon. He has voiced this character across multiple iterations of the franchise, including the original Digimon Adventure series, Digimon Adventure 02, the Digimon Adventure tri. film series, and the film Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. He also reprised the role for the 2023 film Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning.

His other notable anime voice roles are diverse. He voiced Ryouji Fujioka, the flamboyant father of Haruhi, in the romantic comedy Ouran High School Host Club. He also played Nyanko-Sensei, the powerful feline spirit, in the film Natsume Yujin-cho the Movie: Ephemeral Bond. In the space opera Edens Zero, he provided the voice for the enigmatic service robot Mosco Versa-0. His film work includes roles in In This Corner of the World as Entarou, Miss Hokusai as Manjidou, and Stand By Me Doraemon as Nobisuke Nobi. He also voiced the titular mouse in the series Topo Gigio and Yumemiru Topo Gigio. His television credits include the role of the persistent rookie hunter Tonpa in Hunter x Hunter (2011), Kaioshin in the Dragon Ball franchise, and Tokugawa Nariyoshi in Hell's Paradise.

Beyond anime, Hohlbein's voice is widely recognized for numerous live-action dubbing roles. He is known as the German voice of Dr. Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards) in the long-running series Emergency Room, Ted Buckland (Sam Lloyd) in Scrubs, and Rex Van de Kamp (Steven Culp) in Desperate Housewives. He also dubbed Detective Norm Scully in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Glen Carter in The Blacklist.
