Griffin Cork

Description
Griffin Cork is a Canadian actor and producer with a career spanning over a decade in film, theatre, and voice acting. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, his early creative development was nurtured through involvement with local theatre programs, including Theatre Works, Quest Theatre, and the Calgary Young People's Theatre. He began his professional career at the age of twelve, taking on the titular role in A Paintbrush for Piccolo with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. His on-screen career soon followed with a role alongside Matthew Perry in the television film The Ron Clark Story. Cork pursued formal training, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Alberta in 2019.

In the realm of voice acting, Cork is best known for his work in English adaptations of anime series, particularly those within the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise. He is the voice of the character Kouji Ibuki across multiple installments of the series, including Cardfight!! Vanguard, Cardfight!! Vanguard: High School Arc Cont., and Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez. His involvement in the franchise also extends to providing the voice for the character Taizo in Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez and SD Greion in other series iterations.

Beyond the Cardfight!! Vanguard universe, Cork has voiced characters in other anime series adapted from trading card games. He is recognized for his roles in Futurecard BuddyFight, providing the voice for Brutal of the Martial Arts in Futurecard BuddyFight X and Kibaltes in Futurecard BuddyFight Hundred. This body of work demonstrates a recurring pattern of voicing characters within the niche of card game-based anime, often for the same production studios involved in localizing these series for English-speaking audiences.

Alongside his voice acting credits, Cork maintains an active presence in theatre and live-action screen work. His stage credits span numerous companies, including Theatre Calgary and The Shakespeare Company. He has also appeared in television series such as Heartland and the fantasy series Abracadavers. His contributions to the arts have been recognized with several awards and honors. These include being named one of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta's Emerging Artists in 2020, receiving the Duval Lang Theatre for Young Audience Emerging Leader Award at the 2015 Betty Mitchell Awards, and winning a BroadwayWorld Award for Best Actor in a Play for his performance in the one-person show Fully Committed.
