Akiko Kawase is a Japanese voice actress born on June 29, 1980, in Tokyo. She is a graduate of Keio University and the Tokyo Announcement Academy, and has been active in the industry since 2003. Kawase is affiliated with the talent management firm Aksent.

Her career encompasses a wide range of roles in anime, video games, and overseas dubbing. In anime, she is known for several prominent parts. She voiced Kumiko Honma in the Black Jack series, including the 2004 television anime, the 2005 film Black Jack: The Two Doctors Of Darkness, and Black Jack 21. She played Aoi Mishina, also known as Musume Blue, in the 2004 series Shooting Starlets Musumet. Her role as July in the 2006 sci-fi series Coyote Ragtime Show is another notable performance. In the basketball anime Hoop Days (Dear Boys), she voiced the character Mai Moritaka. For a younger audience, she voiced Julietchi in the long-running Tamagotchi! Yume Kira Dream series. She also took on the role of the perpetually normal waitress Maya Matsumoto in the popular comedy Working!!, a part she reprised in its sequels, Working'!! and Working!!!. Other significant anime roles include Miyabi Tsukuyomi in Koi Koi Seven, Mitsu Kusabue in Rozen Maiden Träumend, and Plusle in the Pokémon series.

Beyond animation, Kawase's filmography includes video games such as Parfait ~Chocolat Second Style~ and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, for which she provided the Japanese voice for several characters. She has also been involved in music, performing theme songs for some of her series, including the opening theme Ai no Senko for Shooting Starlets Musumet and the opening theme Super Love for Koi Koi Seven.
