Kotomi Yamakawa is a Japanese voice actress born on March 12, 1982, in Hokkaido, Japan. She is affiliated with the Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society, having joined the agency in April 2009 after being previously associated with Ken Production and Genki Project, and a period as a freelancer. Her voice is classified as mezzo-soprano.
Yamakawa made her debut as a voice actress in 2001 with a role in the television anime series Fruits Basket. Since then, she has built a career with numerous roles across anime television series, original video animations, and video games.
She is known for several recurring roles in major franchises. She voiced Ako Izumi across multiple installments of the Mahō Sensei Negima! franchise, including the television series, OVAs such as Mahō Sensei Negima!: Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba and Mahō Sensei Negima!: Mō Hitotsu no Sekai, and the 2011 film Gekijōban Mahō Sensei Negima! Anime Final. In the Zero no Tsukaima series, she provided the voice for Cattleya, appearing in Zero no Tsukaima: Futatsuki no Kishi, Zero no Tsukaima: Princesses no Rondo, and the video game Zero no Tsukaima: Maigo no Shūmatsu to Ikusen no Symphony.
