Tomo Saeki
Description
Tomo Saeki, also known by the Japanese rendering of her name, サエキトモ, is a Japanese voice actress born on February 2, 1973, in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. Her career in entertainment began in the first half of the 1990s with work in a puppetry performance troupe before she transitioned to voice acting. She made her voice acting debut in 1997, providing the voice for the character Shii Q in the Sega Saturn game "Queenty: Battle Role-player" after passing an audition for the Shoto Actors Gymnasium.
Saeki is perhaps best known for her long-standing association with the Di Gi Charat franchise. She has consistently voiced the character Coo Erhard across numerous installments for over two decades. Her work in this role includes the original Di Gi Charat series, various specials such as the Christmas, Summer, and Flower Viewing specials, Leave it to Piyoko!, Di Gi Charat Nyo!, and the more recent Reiwa no Di Gi Charat in 2022. This role established a significant and recurring character in her filmography.
Beyond Di Gi Charat, Saeki has portrayed a wide variety of characters in numerous anime series and films. Her notable roles include Salt in A Little Snow Fairy Sugar and its summer special, Malibu Peirou (also known as Malibu Peyrot) in the Galaxy Angel series, and Cube in Petite Princess Yucie. From 2001 to 2005, Saeki was a member of the voice actor unit P·K·O, formed in conjunction with the Di Gi Charat franchise alongside fellow voice actors Kosuke Toriumi and Chihiro Suzuki. The group performed songs and appeared in live events.
Saeki's career experienced a hiatus for health reasons, during which she was absent from voice acting work. She made a return to the industry in 2010, resuming her roles in radio programs and anime.
