Hiroomi Sugino is a Japanese voice actor and stage actor born on August 26, 1964, in Tokyo, Japan. He is also known professionally as Tanuki Sugino, which is his current stage name, and has previously used the names Hiromi Sugino and Hiroshi Sugino. He began his career in voice acting in 1993. Over the years, he has been affiliated with several talent agencies, including Tritrio Office, Gekidan Tomo, and B-Box, before joining Production Ace in 2019.

Sugino has built a career through his versatility, lending his voice to a wide array of characters across anime, video games, and foreign language dubbing. His anime roles are numerous and varied. He is known for playing Dalzollene in the 1999 Hunter x Hunter series, Yuujirou Kido in Barakamon, and Zenon in Altair: A Record of Battles. He also voiced characters in long-running series such as Bleach, where he played Shinetsu Kisaragi, and Digimon Tamers. His filmography includes roles in Clannad, Corrector Yui, Sonic X, and Tiger & Bunny. He has also voiced characters in the Battle Spirits franchise, including Brustom in Battle Spirits: Shōnen Gekiha Dan.

His work extends to several mecha and action anime series from the 2000s. He voiced Drill Robo in Shutsugeki! Machine Robo Rescue. In the SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors series, he took on multiple roles, including the character Ma Yuan Yi (Ba Gen Gi) Zaku. He also voiced Dino Mammoth in both Dinozaurs: The Series and the Dinozone OVA.

Beyond animation, Sugino is an active stage performer and has a substantial career in Japanese dubbing for international films and television dramas. He is the regular Japanese voice for actor Taylor Wily, known for his role as Kamekona in Hawaii Five-0. His dubbing work also includes roles in major films such as Eternals and the Fantastic Beasts series.
