Inuko Inuyama is a Japanese actress and voice actor born on December 16, 1965, in Tokyo, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency Across Entertainment and is also a long-standing member of the theatrical troupe Nylon100℃. Her career began on the stage before she made her voice acting debut in 1996 with the anime series Dokodemo Makibao, providing the voices of Midori Makibao and Unko Tarezō.
Inuyama is most widely recognized for her long-running role as the voice of Team Rocket's Meowth (Nyarth) in the Pokémon franchise. She began voicing the character in 1997 and has continued to portray Meowth in the television series, including all subsequent series such as Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl, Pokémon: Black & White, Pokémon Journeys: The Series, and nearly every theatrical film release. Her film credits in the franchise include Pokémon: The First Movie, Pokémon: The Movie - I Choose You!, Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, and Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, among many others.
Beyond her iconic work in Pokémon, Inuyama has contributed her voice to a variety of other notable anime roles. She is known for portraying Manta Oyamada in the 2001 series Shaman King. She also voiced the titular character Bakabon in the 2015 film Tensai Bakavon ~Yomigaeru Flanders no Inu~. Other roles include Akamaki in Colorful Ninja Iromaki and a character named Kurumizawa in the film Tokyo Godfathers. Her voice acting work has also extended into video games, such as her role as Master Ershin in Breath of Fire IV.
