Kengo Takanashi is a Japanese voice actor born on June 12, 1986, in Tokyo, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent agency Arts Vision. His journey into voice acting began during his adolescence when he developed an interest in performance while creating amateur video games with friends, leading him to enroll in the Japan Narration Acting Institute. He balanced his studies with part-time work before successfully auditioning for his agency and launching his professional career.
Takanashi's early work consisted primarily of dubbing foreign films and television series, as well as minor roles in anime. His first major anime role came in 2018 when he was cast as Haruto Amō in Seven Senses of the Reunion. This was followed by a steady stream of notable supporting and lead characters. In the popular franchise That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, he voices the character Kaval, appearing in both the main series and its spin-off, The Slime Diaries. His diverse filmography includes the role of Fujita in the dark fantasy Dorohedoro, Shogo Itaya in the music drama Given, Sō Hachiya in STARMYU, Akai in Play It Cool, Guys, Akiya Shirakawa in Kageki Shojo!!, and Yasunori in Daily Lives of High School Boys. More recently, he has taken on leading roles such as Murai in Murai in Love and Kazuki in The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic.
