Tomohisa Asō, also known by his stage name Tomohisa Asō, is a Japanese voice actor and narrator. He was born on May 13, 1949, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. His real name and former stage name is Takuya Matsumaru. He is affiliated with the talent agency Aoni Production. Asō stands 174 cm tall and has O blood type.
Asō began his voice acting career in the early 1990s after graduating from the Theater Company Subaru's affiliated Comprehensive Art Academy and completing the 11th class at the Aoni Juku Tokyo school. His voice is classified as high baritone to tenor, and he is particularly recognized for his skill in portraying middle-aged and elderly characters, often using a low, gravelly tone. One of his noted skills is tate, the art of stage combat.
