Anna Cummer is a Canadian actress who has built a extensive career in voice acting for animated series and films, particularly in the Vancouver-based dubbing industry. Born in Singapore on January 2, 1977, to Canadian parents, she spent her adolescence between Southeast Asia and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She completed her high school education at the French International School of Hong Kong before moving to England to study drama, where she earned a Master of Performing Arts degree. Since returning to Canada in 2001, she has worked extensively in voice-over, film, and theatre.
Cummer's voice acting career in anime began in the early 2000s with English dubbing productions for the North American market. She quickly became a recognizable talent within the industry, often providing voices for lead and supporting characters across a wide range of series. One of her more prominent early roles was as the gentle and childlike Vanilla H in the comedy series Galaxy Angel and its subsequent iterations, including Galaxy Angel A, Galaxy Angel S, and Galaxy Angel X. She also voiced the character Mea in the series Popotan, a role that fans often noted for its vocal similarity to her work as Vanilla H.
In the mecha and science fiction genres, Cummer took on significant roles such as Miriallia Haw in the English adaptations of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and its sequel Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. She later voiced Kinue Crossroad in Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Her work also extended to fantasy and adventure series, where she played Nozomi Daichi in The Daichis - Earth's Defence Family and Wilhelmina Carmel in the first season of Shakugan no Shana.
