John Payne is an English-Canadian voice actor known for his extensive work in anime dubbing, primarily with Ocean Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia. Born John Adrian Payne on 17 May 1960 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England, he has been active in the voice acting industry since the 1970s.

Payne has contributed to numerous anime series and films, building a career that includes both major and supporting roles. Among his most recognized anime performances is the role of Ramba Ral in the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. He has also voiced the character Rasetsu in Inuyasha and Shun Mitaka in Maison Ikkoku. In feature film anime, Payne played Prince Kirin in Ranma ½: Big Trouble in Nekonron, China, Tochiro in the Galaxy Express 999 movie and Adieu Galaxy Express 999, and Jamin in Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture.

Beyond these roles, his anime voice credits include Al-Jairi in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Commander Kim in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Sojun Sa in The Story of Saiunkoku, and MetalMan in MegaMan NT Warrior (Rockman.EXE Axess). He has also voiced characters in series such as Human Crossing, Master Keaton, Saber Marionette R, Silent Möbius, and Brain Powered. In addition to anime, Payne has provided voices for Western animated productions including He-Man and the Masters of the Universe as Sy-Klone and Moss Man, Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century as Dr. John Watson, and G.I.
